Our Puppy Training Merthyr Process

We want to help you with a plan to get the best out of your puppy training! We offer several options:

1-2-1 Puppy Training – These take place at our conveniently situated training school in Merthyr Tydfil and in the surrounding areas. Our trainers are available 7 days per week at a rate of £25 for a 45-minute session. The sessions are offered on a pay as you go system.

Puppy Parties – This is a good opportunity for your puppy to meet other dogs. We believe puppies should learn that they cannot expect to play with every dog, both as a puppy and as an adult dog. We teach our puppy owners how to teach their puppy to manage their own expectations of when safe play is going to take place. In our puppy party sessions, we include recall training and focus so that play sessions are managed correctly which helps your puppy to follow instructions in the future when more distractions are available. Our puppy party sessions are 30 minutes at a cost of £10 per session held each Monday, Wednesday and Fridays but we will be including weekends in the near future. The sessions are offered on a pay as you go system.

Puppy Day School

Puppy Day School – Ideal for owners who want their puppy to develop while they are working and want to ensure their puppies are content with other humans, other dogs, and being on their own. Available 7 days per week on the pay as you go basis of £35, but we offer many other options with a form of ongoing commitment.

Residential Puppy Life Skills – This option includes one or two weeks of s residential training. It’s perfect if you have travel plans, as we can work with your puppy on the areas needed while you’re away. So, you can return to improved behaviour! It also includes owner training before your puppy leaves us, and we tailor every package to suit each individual family’s needs.

We believe that the first 100 days are vital to you as owners getting into the right habits and routines. It’s obviously about the puppies, but it’s also about the humans and their behaviour! We can support you at any level to suit your needs. For new puppy owners who want ongoing regular support then we strongly suggest our 28 Day Puppy Support Package. This includes unlimited access to our puppy parties, one online or one 1-2-1 puppy training session weekly, and one day school session each week. This mix of services is really helpful for you as a responsible owner and excellent for your puppy’s development. The monthly fee is £190. After this time, you can decide if another month is needed. However, usually it is not, and maybe another form is more suitable!
Please get in touch to enquire about any of these options and discover the right one for you and your puppy- we’d love to hear from you!

Puppy Training Success

The main aim of our puppy training Merthyr Tydfil is to help pet owners prevent puppy training failure! We really recommend that new puppy owners find the right training as early as possible. As mentioned, the first 100 days of your lives together are the most crucial! The Royvon Story

It’s not uncommon for sons to follow in their father’s footsteps. Here’s the story of a family who has established a great reputation as experts in the dog training and boarding world!

From 1954 Will John taught his son Roy all there was to know about German Shepherds. In the early days, it was a hobby, but after Roy met his wife-to-be Yvonne, they decided to turn their hobby into a business. In 1959 Royvon was born! They both shared the love and admiration of the German Shepherd breed, judging all over the world. Together they developed the facility in the South Wales valleys that was Royvon’s founding location.

The Royvon Story Tragedy

The Royvon story isn’t all joy and triumph, as in 1981 there was a tragic car accident where Yvonne and son Darren were seriously injured and Roy lost his life at just 43 years of age. The years that followed were understandably extremely hard for the family and the Royvon business suffered as a result. The extent nearly led to bankruptcy but the family’s love of passion for each other and their dogs was the saviour and Royvon was to triumph once again.

Darren was only 9 when the accident happened. However, his father instilled the passion for the business in him. As a result, Roy’s legacy lived on through Darren, Yvonne, and many associates that held Roy in such high regard. Darren often talks about the support he received from ‘dog people’ who constantly told him stories about how respected his father was and how great a ‘dog man’ he was.
