Policies
Vaccination Policy
The health and safety of every dog in our care depends on every dog being fully vaccinated before they arrive. This policy applies to all dogs attending any Royvon service, including boarding, day care, training programmes and group sessions.
Please read this policy carefully before making a booking. If you have questions about your dog's vaccination status, speak to your vet before enquiring with us.
Vaccination Records
When bookings are made, customers are emailed to inform them that proof of vaccinations must be provided before their dog's stay. A clear image of the vaccination record must be uploaded to our customer portal on the dog's account.
If the required vaccinations are not up to date, the reservation may be delayed or cancelled. Refunds cannot be made if reservations need to be cancelled as a result of vaccination records being out of date or incomplete.
Please ensure you have uploaded your dog's vaccination record to your account before arriving. If you are unsure how to do this, contact us and we will help you through the process.
Vaccination Requirements
Dogs must be vaccinated against the following diseases. Each vaccination must have been administered within the last 12 months by a qualified veterinary surgeon:
- Distemper
- Parvovirus
- Hepatitis
- Leptospirosis
- Parainfluenza
- Kennel Cough (Infectious Tracheobronchitis), administered separately and not included in standard boosters.
All vaccinations must be recorded in your dog's official veterinary vaccination certificate. We will not accept verbal confirmation or screenshots of online records as a substitute for the official vaccination certificate.
Kennel Cough Vaccination
The Kennel Cough vaccination must be administered at least 72 hours before the start date of your dog's stay, but ideally one to two weeks prior to arrival. This gives the vaccine time to provide effective protection.
Kennel cough vaccines may be identified as:
- Interac, valid for 6 months
- Nobivac KC, valid for 12 months
If your dog has received the kennel cough vaccination within 72 hours of the booking start date, they will not be accepted. Dogs are contagious to other dogs during this window and cannot be admitted to protect the health of all dogs in our care.
Managing Exceptions & Eventualities
We understand that unexpected situations arise. Below is how we handle the most common exceptions:
- Within 72 hours of kennel cough vaccination: dogs cannot be accepted during this period as they may be contagious to other dogs.
- Missing vaccination records: if an owner does not have vaccination records to hand, we must assess whether an emergency exception is possible (e.g. last-minute travel plans). Contact us immediately to discuss your situation.
- Vaccinations expiring during a stay: if a dog’s vaccinations expire during their stay with us, the owner must arrange an immediate update from their vet, or the dog may need to be isolated from other dogs until this is resolved.
- Dog identity mismatch: if a dog’s identity does not match the vaccination card provided, veterinary treatment may be delayed until verification can be completed.
- Expired vaccinations accepted in error: in the rare event that expired vaccinations are accepted by our team in error, management will assess whether to waive fees or arrange for the dog to return home. Each case is handled individually.
Customer Accountability
You are responsible for ensuring your dog's vaccinations are current before making a booking with Royvon. By confirming a booking with us, you confirm that your dog's vaccinations meet the requirements set out in this policy.
- Vaccination records must be uploaded to your customer portal account before your dog's stay begins.
- Reminder emails are sent automatically when a booking is confirmed and again in the days before arrival. It remains the owner's responsibility to ensure records are uploaded.
- If your dog's vaccination status changes after booking, you must notify us immediately.
Royvon reserves the right to refuse admission to any dog whose vaccinations do not meet the requirements set out in this policy, regardless of when the booking was made. No refund will be issued in these circumstances.
