SPECIALST TRAINERS INRESIDENTIAL DOG TRAINING
PROGRESSIVE DOG TRAINING METHODS
Today’s families need up-to-date training solutions. Society’s attitudes towards companion animals has changed over time. This is reflected in our training methods and the structure of our programmes.
Small tweaks and management tips can make a difference, but for long lasting results there is no quick fix. Positive training, using kind methods works but does take lots of repetition and patience.
You and your dog are a team and we are dog teachers, human instructors and team coaches. We will help translate your dream into an achievable goal and design a training programme to match.
We will train both you and your dog and support you all the way.
TRANSLATING YOUR DREAM INTO ACHIEVABLE GOALS
OBEDIENCE CHALLENGES AND LIFE SKILLS
This programme combines residential training for your dog followed up by a series of progressive sessions for you and your dog to practice together. It focuses on basic day-to-day obedience skills, that every dog should know. The most frequently requested skills are:
- Lead manners
- Stay or settle down
- Control around doors
- Control getting in and out of the car
- Manners – Polite meet and greets with people
We will start by setting goals with you and designing a bespoke programme. Then your dog spends time at our facility, bonding with us and learning the key concepts and basic behaviours. We create training setups that help your dog progress from training to real-world situations.
We practise, practise, practise. While with us, your dog will also get to play with us and also with other dogs if suitable to interact off lead with playmates.
During training, your dog will practice on focusing on the handler, rather than dogs and other distractions.
PRACTICE FOCUSSING ON THE HANDLER
FEAR, AGGRESSION, OVER-AROUSAL AND PREDATORY CHASING
This programme combines an intensive 21 day residential training part and an extensive owner training part. Some behaviours are an expression of emotional responses triggers (such as reactive barking and lunging) or emotional states (hyper-vigilance, inability to focus).
These challenges need a more complex approach that combines addressing how your dog feels about things and implementing management and control measures, as well as teaching your dog more appropriate alternative behaviours.
This often helps repair wear and tear on your relationship and helping you understand your dog better. While those challenging behaviours usually don’t change overnight and we don’t have magic solutions, we do have the solid knowledge, skill and experience as well as the facilities and training setups to help you and your dog.ENQUIRELearn More
DOG TRAINING TO SUIT TRAVEL PLANS
Adding training sessions to your dog’s stay with us will not only help your dog learn new and useful skills, but will also make their stay even more enjoyable and fulfilling. Depending on the length of their stay and the number of sessions, we can focus on a few specific skills or general concepts that provide a great foundation for training. Your trainer will be able to advise what is achievable and how to get the best value of the available time.
This option is also popular for dogs who previously trained with us and would like a top up while boarding with us.ENQUIRELearn More
