OF A ROTTWEILER

A Rottweiler will display from a very young age his natural abilities. Abilities that we need to manage, satisfy and sometimes amplify. So when you are selecting your Rottie puppy you will be able to see the differences between the siblings. Those differences are related to the dog’s individual instincts, which are making him unique between his siblings. Every dog has the same canine needs but they are coming classified according to the breed. When you get a Rottweiler you need to expect a certain kind of character and temperament.

Make the dysplasia test at the right age. It is important to have this test as Rottweilers have a predisposition to have dysplasia due to their genetic history

Organise a healthy diet in two steps: Development & Maintenance. Development (puppy age) – the foundation of muscular and bone structure has to have a healthy and good resource. Maintenance (adolescence to maturity) – once a Rottweiler reaches maturity, it is important to maintain his condition with a good diet.

Start training (technical & behavioural) at a young age. A Rottweiler can display a set of skills as well as a set of issues from a young age. Tackle does elements according to how the individual is and evolution will come sooner for the dog.

Create a suitable environment for your Rottweiler. Sometimes the environment can influence a dog’s behaviour. A working breed such as the Rottweiler will clearly be aware of the environment that he is in and he will develop behaviours related to the environment ( Eg. territorial guarding )

Create enough confidence in yourself in order to manage, handle & guide a Rottie. Strong headed, calm & excited, strict and relaxed are a few of the abilities that a Rottweiler owner should have.

A Rottweiler is suitable to cover different areas of training such as: showing, agility, tracking etc. Due to their amazing predisposition to work they are eligible to fulfil multiple areas of working.

By managing all of the above your Rottie will be physically and psychologically healthy throughout. Structure in rising, maintaining and fulfilling your Rottweiler’s need is essential to his existence. Adapt to the way your Rottweiler is and the relationship between you and your dog is going to be successful.
